ABOUT
Summer Darkness is a dark underground interdisciplinary festival, located in the beautiful premises of the gothic city centre of Utrecht. Utrecht is a big university city and its centre is, just like Amsterdam, full of canals and historic premises like The Dom, a large gothic church and tower with a beautiful square. But Utrecht is also home to Rietveld (architect) and Miffy. The festival-ticket does not include a campsite. So no camping in muddy middle of nowhere, but sleeping in one of the wide budget range of hotels, city-campings, hostels and B&B’s in the city. Apart from the location, Summer Darkness outshines in a mixture of music, fashion, arts, market, and dark underground dancenights. Summer Darkness brings together a varied array of bands and genres today's underground has to offer. New-wave, ambient, electro, pagan, balfolk, neo-folk, EBM, darkwave, synthpop, futurepop, neo-classical, industrial, noise and now also witchhouse: take your pick, it’s all there.

MARKET
Just like previous years, Summer Darkness will organize an atmospheric market on the Dom square during the festival. The market will consist of market stands, fashion shows, a terrace and live performances will be given on the Dom square stage. There will be some good food available, as well as drinks!

TICKETS
For Summer Darkness there is a wide variety of tickets available. See here for all presale and ticket information.
Please note that a ticket doesn't include a campsite. So no camping in muddy middle of nowhere, but sleeping in one of the wide budget range of hotels, city-campings, hostels and B&B’s in the city. VENUES & LOCATIONS
Summer Darkness is located in the unique premises of Utrecht city centre. Indoor venues and the Dom square are used for our concerts, underground clubnights, arts, fashion and markets. Be aware: The venues vary in size. If you really want to see an act: make sure you are on time. When it's full, you will not be able to get in.

TRANSPORT
Because of its central location Utrecht is well connected to the rest of The Netherlands, and has a well-developed public transport network. The city is easy accessible by (international) train, bus or car. Utrecht is a friendly studentcity, located in the centre of The Netherlands. The city centre is small and it's easy to walk between the different venues.
TRAIN

Please keep in mind that there is a renovation taking place at Utrecht Central Station. This has no effect on the train schedules, but you might not recognize the area if you have been there before.
CAR
If you come to Utrecht by car, please remember, parking in the city centre is very expensive. It's better to park at your hotel (if possible), in car-parkings, or at the cheap P&R or 'Transferium' a car parking at the edge of the city.
