Some say writing about music is like dancing about architecture. But if music could be like architecture, it would be the music of Empusae.

Elaborate ritualistic and industrial soundscapes with intricate structures are what this solo project of Nicolas van Meirhaege is all about. On his latest album he worked together with among others In Slaughter Native, Ordo Rosarius Equilibrio, Arcana and others to create imminent structures of rhythm, ambience and atmosphere. In some songs it’s almost as if your listening to memory itself.
