Sophya (cancelled)

Sophya unfortunately had to cancel their show at Summer Darkness. Boudoir is replacing them.

The line-up of Summer Darkness keeps things a little bit complicated this year, by having both Sophia and Sophya playing at the festival. This Sophya is not the Swedish band of Peter Bjärgö, but a Dutch band, that was discovered in 1999 by Ronny Moorings of Clan of Xymox, and subsequently signed to his own label Xymox Control. Their music has a beautiful, cool tension and a sound that harks back to the 1980s, with sexy female vocals, warm synths and slow, seductive rythms. Anyone looking for good successors to the Cocteau Twins, The Cure or Faith and the Muse, should definitely lend their ears to Sophya.
