Staatseinde
The band Staatseinde from Utrecht has already made a lot of mouths smile and a lot of foreheads frown, too, with their catchy, joyous 1980s electro pop. With Dutch lyrics about nonsensical topics – "Space travel ahoy!" -, quirky Yamaha melodies and, lo and behold, a genuine flute, the band will no doubt be a surprise for most Summer Darkness visitors. But for those who admit that life does not always have to be a serious affair, Staatseinde is a welcome breath of fresh air.
